    Obituary - "Mrs. Christina Campbell
    The death of Mrs. Christina Campbell, widow of the late Daniel Campbell, occurred at the home of her son Bert, Himsworth, on Thursday, Sept.28th, following a long period of failing health.
    The deceased, whose maiden name was Christina Lee, was born in Walkerton 93 years ago. Later her family moved to the Manitoulin, where she married Daniel Campbell. They came to Powassan 42 years ago,occupying a farm about a mile north of the town where she continued to reside until quite recently, when she went to live with her eldest son Bert at Pine Grove.
    In the early days when nurses were no nearer than North Bay, Mrs.Campbell did practical nursing, traveling long distances in winter and summer to bring comfort and cheer to the sick. She was a great worker in the Methodist Church, Powassan, in the early days.
    The deceased is survived by three sons and three daughters: Bert, Dan and Alex., Powassan ; Mrs. W. Allen, Lone Spruce, Sask.; Mrs. P. Briggs,Wingham; Mrs. Wm. G. Whelen, of Kirkland Lake . Two sons are deceased, Major C. W. Campbell being drowned in 1933, and Herbert killed at Vimy Ridge in the Great War. Mr. Campbell predeceased her six years.There are 20 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.There are also three brothers living -Wm. Lee, Himsworth; J. Lee, Manitoulin, and C. Lee,and one sister, Mrs. Wm. Gillespie, Thessalon.
    The funeral service on Sunday afternoon was conducted by Rev. Wm. Major, who gave a very comforting message to the bereaved. Favorite hymns oft he deceased were sung and the service closed with the 23rd psalm. Mr.Major spoke of the esteem in which the deceased was held, as evidenced by the large gathering of neighbors and friends to pay their last respects . Among those present from a distance were: Mr. and Mrs. Whelen, Mr. and Mrs. T. R. Rowe and Mrs . H. Vernon (Kirkland Lake), Mrs.Biggs, Mrs.Gillespie."
