Sometime after 1777, Asaph moved to Lansingburgh, New York. Sarah died about 1770, and Asaph remarried to Rebecca in Pittstown, New York in the early 1790s. Asaph died on August 6, 1796 in Pittstown, New York and is buried in Old Cooksborough Cemetery in Pittstown, New York. His second wife, Rebecca, was the administix of his will in August 1796.

In about 1750, Asaph and Sarah moved to southern Vermont and settled in Dumerston, Windham County.

The family left Vermont in about 1760 and lived in Queensbury, New York until after the American Revolution. He lived in a log house which faced South street, on the estate of the late Roger Haviland, near the big dam.
