     Thomas Dewitt was born circa 1794 at Williamstown, Glengarry, Ontario, Canada, son of John Dewitt UEL and Dorothy Cline. Thomas Dewitt was baptized in 1794 at St Andrews Presbyterian, Williamstown, Glengarry, Ontario, Canada.1
     He Based on DNA testing it is very possible this person married Amarilla Unknown and lived in Montgomery NY. He petitioned for a land grant at Cornwall, Stormont, Ontario, Canada on 4 February 1850.2 He was granted land at an unknown place as of 10 May 1850.3

That your Petitioner has never received any Land or Scrip in lieu thereof from the Crown as the son of said UE Loyalist.     Thomas Dewitt personally appeared before the adjourned Sessions this day and was recognized by the Magistrates as the son of John Dewitt an UE Loyalist who retained his loyalty during the late war without suspicion of aiding or assisting the enemy and that John Dewitt died + was upwards of fifty five years of age and that Thomas Dewitt the Petitioner aforesaid is now fifty years of age.
    The Petitioner has resided for the last five years in the United States.
