     Adam Hartle was born circa 1796 at Ontario, Canada, son of Adam Hartle UEL and Maria Ann Dewitt. Adam Hartle married Mary Ann Betsy Warner before 1832. Adam Hartle died on 24 August 1876 at Osnabruck Twp, Stormont, Ontario, Canada.2,3 He was buried in 1877 at Long Sault Union Cemetery, Darlington Twp, Durham, Ontario, Canada.
     He was Church of England. He was a farmer. He pursued this occupation his entire life. He began military service circa 1812 In his land petition it is stated that he fought in the war against the United States. He petitioned for a land grant at Cornwall Twp, Stormont, Ontario, Canada on 10 January 1823.4 He Was unable to sign his name to the land petition and instead made his mark. He was unable to read or write his whole lifetime. on 10 January 1823. He was granted land at Cornwall Twp, Stormont, Ontario, Canada as of 10 February 1823.5
