Walter David Boyd was born on the 4th of June 1879 in Manitoba, Canada. He was the youngest son of Samuel Hudson Boyd (1831 to 1900) and Marie E. Mathews (1839 to 1932). Walter continued to live with various family members in Manitoba until 1913 when he was first recorded in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, Canada. While living there, his occupation was first recorded as a drayman, which is the “driver of a dray” or flat-bed wagon. By 1932 his occupation was listed as a contractor, and by 1949 he was retired. At various times he lived with his mother, brother and an aunt and uncle.
In about 1925 Walter married Babecca Alice and became the father of seven children — Lloyd, Myrtle, Terrance, Lois, Juanita, Betty Lou and Joyce.
Walter David Boyd passed away in March 1950 in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, Canada at the age of seventy. He and Rabecca Alice had been married for about twenty-five years. He was buried on the 21st of March that year in the Saint Mary’s Church Cemetery.
