Robert Burns of Evansville Killed in Car Accident
Injuries Prove Fatal When Car Hits Telephone Pole
The many friends of Robert Burns, Evansville, were shocked to learn of his death in the Soo last Thursday morning. It appears that he was returning from the pavilion in company with friend he met while there, and on the way home, after picking up a couple of other chaps waiting for a street car, the front wheel of the car in which they were traveling caught in an intersection of the street railway tracks and the car was thrown against a telephone pole. The impact was of such force as to hurl the two occupants of the rumble seat clear, and inflict fatal injuries to Burns who was riding in the front sear. The driver of the car received very severe injuries and is reported to have died in the Soo hospital a few days later.
